Lisa Sutton
Lisa qualified from the University of Cape Town (South Africa) in 2000 (her degree awarded with distinction) and she has spent the following 10 years working in her preferred field of paediatric physiotherapy. Lisa joined Therapy4kids in August 2008.
Lisa began her career in paediatric physiotherapy in South Africa directly after her graduation working for both a private practice and developmental day centre. Lisa has been working in the same field in London for the past 3 years both as a Senior Paediatric Physiotherapist and more recently as the Physiotherapy Deputy Manager for the Portland Hospital in London.
Lisa firmly believes in remaining up to date and further developing her knowledge in her chosen field of paediatric physiotherapy by attending many of the most current and relevant courses available. Amongst many others Lisa has attended the following courses that she believes have greatly assisted in developing her approach to treatment:
- Advanced course in Bobath appraoch to early assessment and intervention of babies and young children
- Various Great Ormond Street lectures covering respiratory, orthopaedics, neurology, adolesence and special interests
- Splinting in neurology for adults and children
- Paediatric respiratory and musculoskeletal wokshops
Lisa is also a member of the Health Professions Council (HPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP).
Lisa is a highly experienced therapist with a long history of invovlement and interest in paediatric physiotherapy. She firmly believes that early intervention and a welcoming environment are key for interactive and successful treatment sessions for children thereby helping them to achieve their goals.
